The convertible version of the popular 1 Series was launched recently. The base model in the line up is the 118i ES Convertible with a 4 cylinder 1995cc 143 BHP engine. At the top of the range is the 135i M Sport Convertible with a 6 cylinder 2979 CC engine and twin turbo producing 306 BHP, which should be a real flying machine
The range of other models include the 120i with a 4 cylinder 1995cc petrol engine producing 170 BHP, the 4 cylinder 1995cc turbo diesel engine of the 120d producing 177 BHP and the 6 cylinder 2996cc engine of the 125i producing 218 BHP. All 4 cylinder models are available in ES, SE and M Sport versions whilst the 6 cylinder models are either SE or M sport.
Unlike the current 3 Series convertible with the hard top that folds up into the boot, the 1 Series uses a conventional fabric hood.
